Extractions

Having a tooth pulled, also known as an extraction, is usually pretty straightforward and can be performed quickly and while you are awake. Local anesthetic will be used to help you manage your pain, but you will have other dental anesthetic options.

What Should I Expect During My Extraction?

Before your procedure, Dr. Nathan Cejka will make sure that the tooth and the area around the tooth is plenty numb, so you won’t feel any pain. During the extraction, you will feel quite a bit of pressure. This is because, in order to loosen the tooth for removal, it will be firmly rocked back and forth. However, with the help of the anesthetic, you won’t feel any pain.

There can be some complications to your procedure, mostly relating to the roots of the tooth, the position of the tooth, or shape of a tooth. Luckily, all of these should be apparent once your x-rays have been viewed and Dr. Cejka will discuss what these complications may mean for your extraction.

After the procedure is complete, Dr. Cejka and his staff will provide you with the information and instructions you will need to make sure that you’re properly caring for your mouth.
