Oral Hygiene

Oral hygiene is the practice of cleaning your teeth and mouth in order to prevent dental problems like cavities, gum disease, and gingivitis. Maintaining good oral hygiene will allow you to have teeth that are both functional and attractive. Good oral health is important to your overall wellbeing – and that goes for the whole family!

In order to make sure your mouth and teeth are as healthy as possible, you should come in for a regular teeth cleaning and exam, at least every 6 months. You should be flossing and brushing at least twice a day – morning and night, and make sure you’re cleaning your tongue and the inside of your cheeks.

Another important part of oral hygiene is staying aware of the kinds of foods that can damage your oral health. This would involve anything too sugary or acidic, or any caffeine and coffee. And, of course, be sure to stay away from smoking and chewing tobacco, which can both cause multiple dental diseases, including cancer.
