Sedation

When you come to our office for your procedure, you’ll have a few different anesthetic options. Dr. Nathan Cejka can help you make to the decision, based on your specific procedure and your own concerns and preferences.

Office based intravenous anesthesia with local anesthetic sedation involves IV administered medication. You would fall asleep soon after receiving the IV and would stay asleep throughout the procedure. Oxygen would also be administered and your vital signs would be monitored the entire time.

What Are Some Benefits Of Sedation?

  • One of the major benefits of sedation is that it often feels as though your dental procedure has only taken a few minutes, even if it’s been hours. Because of this, more of the complex dental procedures that would normally require multiple visits can be performed in fewer appointments.
  • If you’re avoiding dental treatment because you feel anxiety about undergoing long or complicated dental procedures, sedation dentistry can allow us to help you feel more comfortable during the process and still allow you to have a healthy and beautiful smile.
  • Lastly, because sedation dentistry addresses some of the fears that might prevent people from going to the dentist regularly, patients who undergo sedation are more likely to receive their recommended routine care.
Let us know when you come in for your appointment if you’d prefer to be sedated.
